A newly completed residential project in Vinhedo, Brazil, demonstrates innovative approaches to indoor-outdoor living through its strategic positioning and open design concept. The House in Vinhedo, designed by Apiacás Arquitetos and completed in 2022, spans 333 square meters and showcases the firm's commitment to seamless integration between interior spaces and natural surroundings.

The design team, led by architects Acácia Furuya, Anderson Freitas, and Pedro Barros, took advantage of the property's flat terrain and generous dimensions to create a residence that maximizes the interface between covered program areas and external spaces. Despite being constrained to a maximum area of 250 square meters initially, the architects developed a strategic positioning approach that extends the living experience beyond traditional indoor boundaries.

A key feature of the project is its circulation system, which follows a design logic previously tested in other residential projects by Apiacás Arquitetos. The circulation between rooms is configured as covered passages that remain open laterally without traditional frames or masonry walls. This innovative approach eliminates the conventional barrier between interior and exterior spaces, creating a continuous flow throughout the residence.

The project involved collaboration with multiple specialists, including construction management by Aimberê Construção, civil engineering by Lourenço, and landscape design by Marina Schmidt. Additional consulting services were provided by various firms specializing in electrical systems, installations, lighting design, and other technical aspects. The construction process also involved partnerships with local specialists including Edu Aquecedores for heating systems, Enok Construções for construction services, Marmoraria Futura for stonework, and GF Esquadrias for window and door systems.

Photographed by Alessandro Kusuki, the completed residence represents a successful example of contemporary Brazilian residential architecture that prioritizes the relationship between built and natural environments. The project reflects the growing trend in Brazilian architecture toward designs that respond to climate and lifestyle needs through innovative spatial arrangements and material choices.

The House in Vinhedo stands as a testament to Apiacás Arquitetos' design philosophy of creating residential spaces that extend beyond traditional indoor-outdoor boundaries. The project's success lies in its ability to create a cohesive living environment where the boundaries between interior comfort and exterior natural beauty become intentionally blurred, offering residents a unique living experience that celebrates Brazil's favorable climate and outdoor lifestyle culture.
