The digital single achieved top rankings in key markets, including the United States, Japan, Germany, and France, among others, according to data provided by BigHit Music as of 8 a.m.

Dedicated to BTS's passionate fanbase, known as ARMY, "Closer Than This" features a heartfelt promise from Jimin, vowing to maintain a steadfast connection despite any challenges that may arise.

Accompanying the single is a music video that takes fans on a nostalgic journey through Jimin's remarkable 10-year musical career.

On December 12, Jimin commenced his mandatory military service, adhering to South Korea's requirement for all able-bodied men to serve for a minimum of 18 months.
