Jung-yun Choi is a Korean sculptor who creates the futile ideological reality of human desire as a visual object based on the subject of 'Sword'.
He has been immersed in the process of reinterpreting the essential properties of the sword, which symbolizes power and historical realty in Eastern cultures, human desire.
The artist also paid attention to 'Flowers', which are like genitals, the starting point of life. He felt a similarity in that flowers and swords were being that skillfully concealed their desires in their appearance.
In the early stage of his work, he used ceramic, but as a result of repeated research on the material of work, he chose threads and salt as the creative material.
In addition, he expresses a variety of phenomena in human society through painting work that uses various colored threads on the canvas.
Choi, the artist who has craftmanship is currently holding a solo exhibition at Gallery Palzo, located in Daegu, and the audience can visit until Feb 3. next year.
