Frieze Seoul will return for its third edition from September 4-7 at Coex in southern Seoul, featuring the inaugural Frieze Live to highlight performance-based art and strengthen connections with the local art scene. The event will host around 110 galleries from around the world.
Dubbed "Frieze Week," the event will include late-night gallery openings, special exhibitions at local art institutions, and on-site programs such as Frieze Film and Frieze Music. Patrick Lee, director of Frieze Seoul, emphasized the fair's role as a regional hub and its aim to attract diverse audiences.
Frieze Seoul will be held alongside Kiaf Seoul, Korea’s international art fair organized by the Galleries Association of Korea. Joint tickets for both fairs will be available from June 17.
This year's Frieze Masters section, led by Director Nathan Clements-Gillespie, will feature an increased presence of galleries from the Asian region, including first-time participants such as Asia Art Center, DAG, Liang Gallery, Mizoe Art Gallery, Galerie du Monde, and Gallery Shilla. Returning participants include Gana Art, Hakgojae Gallery, and Tokyo Gallery + BTAP.
