Jennie, a member of the K-pop group Blackpink, made her debut on the UK's Official Singles Chart with her solo song "You & Me," securing the No. 39 spot according to the latest chart data released on Friday. This achievement marks Jennie's initial appearance on the UK song chart.
The release of "You & Me" positions Blackpink as the first K-pop female group to have all members place their solo songs on the Official Singles Chart. In April, Jisoo's solo debut song, "Flower," reached No. 38. Rose achieved No. 43 with "On the Ground" in March 2021, and Lisa attained No. 46 with "Money" in October 2021.
Jennie's "You & Me," released on October 6, is her first solo release in five years since her initial solo single, "Solo," in 2018.
Additionally, "You & Me" topped Official Charts' weekly singles sales and singles download rundowns, a notable feat for a K-pop female soloist. The song also achieved top positions on global charts, reaching No. 1 on iTunes top song chart in 61 countries and attaining No. 13 on Spotify's daily top song chart.
In recent events, Blackpink concluded their yearlong world tour "Born Pink." Negotiations are reportedly underway between the four members and YG Entertainment regarding the renewal of their contracts, which are believed to have terminated in August.
