South Korean management company, WAKEONE, has announced that the new project boy group, ZEROBASEONE (ZB1), formed on Mnet's audition program, "Boys Planet," will make their debut in the K-pop scene this year. However, the exact debut date has not yet been revealed.

Before their official debut, the nonet will be performing at KCON JAPAN 2023, which is the world's largest K-pop and culture convention, on May 13-14 in Chiba, Japan. CJ ENM, the entertainment behemoth and operator of Mnet, has been organizing KCON since 2012.

ZB1 consists of nine winners from "Boys Planet" that concluded on Thursday. The members include Kim Ji-woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, Park Gun-wook, and Han Yu-jin. The group will be active for two and a half years.

In a statement, WAKEONE said, "People from 184 countries and regions cast 9.4 million votes in the final stage to pick the ZB1 members." The members of ZB1 expressed their gratitude to their fans by writing handwritten letters, which were shared on Twitter last Saturday.

Kim Gyu-vin wrote, "I have always imagined what it would feel like to make a debut. I still cannot believe that I am debuting. Thank you and I love you." Han Yu-jin stated, "I want to repay the love and support that I have received. I would work really hard."

The debut of ZB1 is highly anticipated by K-pop fans around the world, and their performance at KCON JAPAN 2023 will be a preview of what's to come from this new boy group.
