NewJeans, a South Korean girl group, has sold over one million copies of its latest single, "How Sweet," according to data from local album tracker Circle Chart. The single, released on May 24, has reached a total of 1,085,355 copies sold as of Saturday, as reported by the group’s agency, ADOR.
This marks the fourth time NewJeans has achieved the milestone of one million sales for a release since their debut. Previous releases that reached similar sales figures include their debut album "NewJeans" (2022) with 1.59 million copies, "OMG" (2023) with 1.66 million copies, and "Get Up" (2023), which sold 2.14 million copies.
The title track of "How Sweet" has also performed well on music charts both within South Korea and internationally. It is currently ranking high on domestic charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs. Internationally, the song has reached No. 119 on Spotify's Weekly Top Song Global Chart as of Saturday.
In addition to their success with "How Sweet," NewJeans is preparing for their Japanese debut. The group is set to release a single titled "Supernatural" on June 21. They will also hold two fan meet-and-greet events in Japan on June 26 and 27.
