Currently, three other BTS members, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, are already fulfilling their military duties. The group's leader, RM, shared his sentiments on Weverse, a K-pop fan community platform, expressing a mix of emotions as he faces the upcoming service. "The day has finally come," RM stated. "I was really happy to live as a BTS member over the past 10 years. As the end is another beginning, I believe that something good will wait for us when this is all over."
RM acknowledged feeling both fear and apprehension about the new experience but expressed hope in gaining valuable lessons and inspiration. "I always wanted to be a person who is by your side even when I am not there," RM said. "Goodbye for now."
V, another BTS member, took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with a shaved head and sunglasses, expressing his anticipation for this change. "Shaved head with sunglasses... I wanted to try it someday. Good for me."
In accordance with South Korea's regulations, all able-bodied men are required to serve in the military for a minimum of 18 months. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are expected to complete their service and be discharged in June 2025.
