BLACKPINK Members Opt Out of Individual Contract Extensions with YG Entertainment

Agency Confirms Decision, Emphasizes Ongoing Group Contracts with BLACKPINK

YG Entertainment announced on Friday that all four members of the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK have chosen not to extend their individual contracts with the agency. The decision has been made to facilitate the pursuit of solo projects by each member. Notably, the existing group contracts between BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment remain in effect.

In an official statement, YG Entertainment conveyed, "We have agreed not to extend our contracts regarding individual activities (with BLACKPINK members)." The agency further expressed its commitment to supporting BLACKPINK and extended sincere wishes for success in their individual endeavors.

Jennie, one of the BLACKPINK members, confirmed her solo venture on Sunday, revealing the establishment of her own label for solo activities. She expressed excitement about the upcoming journey in 2024 with her newly formed company, OA, and sought continued support from fans both for her solo career and for BLACKPINK as a whole.

Earlier this month, all four members had renewed their group contracts with YG Entertainment, signifying an ongoing commitment to collective endeavors.
