The meteoric trajectory of boy band Tomorrow X Together, affectionately known as TXT, continues as they gear up to make a triumphant comeback with their third studio album in October. The announcement was made by their agency, Big Hit Music, on Wednesday, stirring anticipation among their global fanbase.
On October 13, the quintet will unveil their latest offering, "The Name Chapter: Freefall," marking their return to the music scene after a span of nine months since their fifth EP, "The Name Chapter: Temptation," which debuted in January.
TXT, renowned for crafting a musical narrative that chronicles their journey from boyhood to maturity, delves deeper into their "Name Chapter" series with this new release. Building upon the foundation laid by "Temptation," where the group navigated temptations on a fresh voyage, "Freefall" will propel their story forward as they navigate challenges with unwavering determination.
A pinnacle year for TXT, their previous album achieved astonishing success on a global scale. Securing the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, TXT became the fifth Korean artist to achieve this milestone, a testament to their international impact. August brought further accolades as the Recording Industry Association of America bestowed a gold certification upon their work, placing them alongside the likes of BTS as the only Korean artists to receive such recognition.
The resonant success was mirrored in their homeland, where their album amassed an astounding 1.86 million copies in sales on its debut day, a feat previously accomplished only by BTS. By the sixth day, the album had exceeded 2 million copies in sales, solidifying TXT's position as the fourth male group in South Korea to achieve this double-million distinction within the first week of an album's release.
TXT's international prowess also flourished with significant collaborations and performances. The group's collaboration single, "Do It Like That," featuring the renowned American pop trio Jonas Brothers, marked a significant step towards overseas recognition. The crowning achievement came in the form of their headline debut at the esteemed Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago, further solidifying their international prominence.
Comprising members Yeonjun, Soobin, Hueningkai, Beomgyu, and Taehyun, TXT's journey commenced under the tutelage of Big Hit Music, the same agency that nurtured BTS. Their upcoming album release stands as a testament to the band's enduring growth and impact, transcending boundaries and captivating audiences across the globe.
