K-pop sensation Stray Kids has reached another remarkable milestone with their latest album 'Do It,' which sold an impressive 2,207,660 copies during its debut week from November 21-27. This achievement officially grants the boy group double-million-seller status, according to an announcement from their management company JYP Entertainment on Friday.
The album demonstrated exceptional market demand right from its release date, selling more than 1.49 million copies on the very first day alone. These sales figures, compiled by Hanteo Chart, showcase the group's incredible popularity and the strong anticipation surrounding their new music among fans worldwide.
'Do It' has dominated multiple music charts simultaneously, securing the top position on Hanteo Chart's weekly physical album chart as well as both the weekly album and retail charts on Circle Chart. Music industry analysts are predicting that the album will debut at a high position on the prestigious U.S. Billboard 200 main albums chart when the results are announced next week.
This latest success continues Stray Kids' unprecedented streak of achievements on the Billboard 200, where they have already secured the number one spot seven consecutive times. This remarkable feat has established them as the record holder for the most chart-topping entries by any K-pop act in history. Even more impressively, they remain the only artist in the Billboard 200's seven-decade history to have all seven of their album entries debut directly at the number one position.
On Thursday, the group released the music video for 'Sinseonnoreum,' which serves as one of the album's two main tracks. The video draws inspiration from Jeon Woo-chi, a beloved character from classic Korean literature, and features the Stray Kids members leading goblin-like figures in an energetic and captivating performance. The visual presentation skillfully blends high-energy action sequences with traditional East Asian cultural motifs, creating a unique aesthetic that appeals to both domestic and international audiences.
The continued success of Stray Kids reflects the growing global influence of K-pop music and demonstrates how South Korean artists are increasingly dominating international music markets. Their ability to consistently achieve such impressive sales figures and chart positions reinforces their status as one of the most successful K-pop acts currently active in the industry.
