Mystic Story

Mystic Story, the film's production company, has confirmed the release of "Persona: Sulli," a feature film that pays tribute to the late singer and actor, Sulli. On Wednesday, Mystic Story unveiled the film's main poster, featuring the actress adorned in red attire, gazing downward with captivating poignancy.

The film "Persona: Sulli" unfolds in two distinct parts.

The first segment, a short film titled "4: Clean Island," is a creation of directors Hwang Soo-ah and Kim Jee-hye. This poignant story follows the character "4," portrayed by Sulli, who aspires to embark on a journey to the world's cleanest haven, Clean Island. To gain entry through the island's immigration checkpoint, 4 must confess a sin, entangling her in a narrative involving a peculiar pig.

The second component, a documentary titled "Dear Jinri," is crafted by film director Jung Yoon-suk, bearing the name of Sulli's real identity, Choi Jinri. This documentary provides a profound glimpse into the thoughts and concerns of the 25-year-old Choi through a series of interviews. It serves as a poignant reminder of Sulli's desire for the public to embrace and appreciate her for who she truly was.

"Dear Jinri" has been selected for inclusion in the 28th Busan International Film Festival, set to commence on October 4th, where it will be premiered for a global audience.

The production company shared its aspirations for "Persona: Sulli," expressing the hope that it will convey the message that Choi Jinri was not only a talented actress but also a kind-hearted individual.

Sulli's career began as a child actress in 2005, and she later expanded her horizons by joining the K-pop girl group f(x) in 2009. Tragically, in 2019, at the young age of 25, she took her own life, succumbing to the burden of severe depression. Throughout her life, she faced relentless online harassment for her defiance of societal norms, from sharing braless photos to openly discussing her romantic relationships and even livestreaming social gatherings with friends.
