Kai, a member of popular K-Pop boy band EXO, announced his sudden military enlistment earlier this week, leaving fans shocked and disappointed. However, the star has decided to hold a free fan meeting on May 9th at Yes 24 Live Hall in Gwangjin District, eastern Seoul, just two days before he is set to begin his mandatory military service.

The fan meeting will be held free of charge, but attendees must apply in advance to secure their tickets. For those who are unable to attend in person, SM Entertainment, EXO's management agency, has announced that they will livestream the event on the group's YouTube channel.

The decision to hold the fan meeting was made after Kai's enlistment was abruptly announced by SM Entertainment on Wednesday, leaving fans with little time to say goodbye to the beloved performer. The agency cited recent changes in military policy as the reason for Kai's sudden departure.

However, the Military Manpower Administration later clarified that there had been no changes in the policy and that anyone subject to military service can defer their enlistment up to five times for various reasons over two years.

Kai's enlistment has also affected EXO's upcoming activities, as the group had planned to release a new album in the second half of this year. The album was set to be the first with all eight of the group's Korean members in four years.

After completing his basic military training, Kai will serve as a social service agent. The reason for this decision has not been disclosed by his agency.

Kai, who recently released his third EP, "Rover" in March, is known for his energetic performances and charismatic stage presence. His sudden departure has left fans eager to see him perform one last time before he begins his military service.
