In a significant move within the K-pop landscape, newly established agency GRID Entertainment has made waves by acquiring rapper B.I.'s renowned agency, 131 Label, and unveiling plans for the debut of an exciting new boy band later this year.

GRID Entertainment officially announced its establishment and exclusive contract signing with Thai actor Yorchi through a press release on Monday, marking the agency's first step towards its ambitious vision. With an unwavering commitment to their global fanbase, the agency revealed their intention to showcase a fresh boy band, featuring Yorchi among its members, while diligently preparing for their highly anticipated debut.

In an additional development, GRID Entertainment confirmed its acquisition of 131 Label, a prominent hip-hop label and entertainment agency founded by rapper B.I. in 2018. With this strategic move, GRID Entertainment aims to strengthen its position as a label that focuses on nurturing solo artists. Sim Hyejin, CEO of GRID Entertainment and former co-CEO of 131 Label, expressed their plans for the integration, stating, "We have incorporated 131 Label as one of our in-house labels within GRID Entertainment. This acquisition will enable us to enhance our agency's capacity to support exceptional solo artists."

Sim further revealed that, alongside Yorchi, GRID Entertainment will gradually unveil comprehensive details about the upcoming boy band, including the group's name and its talented members. The agency's visionary leadership, led by Sim, is comprised of former directors from prominent K-pop agencies such as Y.G. Entertainment, S.M. Entertainment, and more, signaling the collective expertise and experience they bring to the table.

GRID Entertainment's entry into the industry signifies a bold stride towards carving a distinct path in the global music scene.
