Plave, a virtual boy band in the K-pop industry, is garnering attention and acclaim for its innovative approach, blending technology with human talent.
The band, consisting of five virtual members, was created by Vlast, a tech startup founded in February 2022. Plave made its debut on March 12, 2023, after originating as a special project from television broadcaster MBC in 2021.

Led by CEO Lee Sung-goo, Vlast held a press conference in western Seoul, shedding light on Plave's success and unique characteristics. The band recently achieved a milestone by winning MBC's weekly music show "Show! Music Core" with their track "Way 4 Luv," becoming the first virtual K-pop idol group to do so.
Plave's members, portrayed virtually, are backed by real-life K-pop idols who work on the band's songs and choreography. This fusion of technology and human talent sets Plave apart in the industry.

Looking ahead, Vlast aims to expand Plave's presence globally, with plans for overseas expansion and collaborations with international agencies. The company recently received investment from K-pop powerhouse HYBE and music publisher YG Plus to facilitate this expansion.
CEO Lee Sung-goo expressed determination to introduce unique experiences exclusive to virtual idols, with plans for future projects aimed at delighting fans worldwide.
