A sculpture in Hamburg's Ottensen district has become the center of controversy after repeated vandalism left the public artwork in a deteriorated state, prompting harsh criticism from the artist's husband who called the treatment "disrespectful."

The sculpture, known as "Ottenser Torborgen," is located near Spritzenplatz in the Ottensen neighborhood. The artwork has been repeatedly targeted by graffiti vandals and has developed an increasingly neglected appearance over time, according to local observers.

Roland Magunia, whose wife created the sculpture, expressed his frustration with the ongoing vandalism and the apparent lack of maintenance of the public art piece. He described the current condition of the sculpture as disrespectful to both the artist's work and the community that the artwork was intended to serve.

The repeated spray-painting incidents have not only damaged the aesthetic integrity of the sculpture but have also raised questions about the protection and maintenance of public art installations in the Hamburg area. The vandalism appears to be an ongoing problem rather than isolated incidents, suggesting a pattern of disregard for public property in the neighborhood.
