Daelim Museum is hosting an exhibition of Keiichi Tanaami, a pioneer of Asian pop art, until June 29, 2025.
This large-scale retrospective features over 700 significant works that span the entirety of the artist’s career.
Born in Tokyo in 1936, Tanaami has created a distinctive artistic world by working across various media, including graphic design, illustration, and video art.
Notably, he incorporated his experiences of evacuation and air raids during World War II into his works, crafting a unique visual language that traverses themes of life, death, dreams, and fantasy.
Furthermore, Tanaami is recognized as an artist who broke down the boundaries between art and popular culture, influencing the "Superflat" movement later conceptualized by Takashi Murakami.
Visitors will have the opportunity to witness Tanaami’s philosophy and artistic journey through his works presented in the exhibition.
