Actress Han Ye Ri’s latest film, Spring Night, is set to make its world premiere at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival. Distributor Cinema Dal confirmed on February 11 that the film, directed by Kang Mi Ja, will screen as part of the festival’s official selection, introducing European audiences to this highly anticipated work.

Spring Night tells the story of two individuals who cross paths at the edge of life and death. Han Ye Ri plays Young Kyung, an alcoholic struggling with her past, while Kim Seol Jin portrays Soo Hwan, a man battling rheumatoid arthritis. Their journey unfolds as they discover an unexpected connection amidst their struggles.

The film has already garnered attention for being officially invited to the Berlinale Forum section, known for showcasing experimental and unconventional cinema. This selection highlights Spring Night as a work that pushes artistic boundaries while exploring deeply human themes.

Audiences around the world will have the opportunity to experience the film through four scheduled screenings. It will be shown on February 14, 15, 20, and 22 at designated theaters during the festival. This marks a significant milestone for the film, as it steps onto the global stage at one of the most prestigious film festivals.

Accompanying the announcement, the film’s international poster was also unveiled. The black-and-white design captures the raw and desperate emotions of the protagonists, portraying their encounter in the darkness as a moment of profound and painful love.

The poster’s tagline further enhances the film’s somber atmosphere: “At last, sorrow will redeem us, so let the tears flow.” This poetic phrase hints at the overarching tone of the narrative, offering a glimpse into the emotional depth that defines the story.

The Berlin International Film Festival runs from February 13 to 23, attracting cinephiles and industry professionals from around the world. With Spring Night set to make its debut, anticipation is high for how international audiences and critics will respond to this evocative and unconventional film.

Han Ye Ri, known for her critically acclaimed performances, continues to solidify her presence in both domestic and international cinema. With Spring Night premiering at Berlinale, her latest role is expected to leave a lasting impression on the global film scene.
