During a recent livestream featuring NewJeans members Hyein and Minji, a malicious comment targeting Hyein emerged, prompting the group's agency, ADOR, to announce its intention to pursue legal action against individuals spreading hate comments or rumors about the girl group's members.

The hate comment, instructing Hyein to "die," surfaced during the Monday streaming session. In response, Hyein expressed her dismay, stating, "That's so mean."

Minji, present during the livestream, captured a screenshot of the username associated with the offensive comment.

ADOR, via a notice on the group's communication platform Phoning, assured followers that the agency is consistently pursuing legal measures against acts of defamation, insults, and the dissemination of false information that could harm the group's reputation.

Hyein, the target of the hate comment, is 15 years old, while fellow members Minji and Hanni are 19, Danielle is 18, and Haerin is 17.

In response to the incident, ADOR announced a modification to the commenting system, restricting live comments to paying subscribers only. The agency justified the decision by stating that the move aims to foster active communication between NewJeans and its fans. Previously, unrestricted live comments were allowed for all viewers.

NewJeans, debuting in July 2022 under the ADOR agency, a music label under HYBE, has swiftly become a prominent name in the K-pop scene. The group is recognized for hit songs such as "Attention" (2022), "Hype Boy" (2022), and "Ditto" (2022).
