Seodaemun District in Seoul is holding a short-form video contest focused on places, events and everyday life in Sinchon.
The theme is “Sinchon in 60 Seconds: A Guide.” Participation is open to individuals and teams regardless of age or place of residence.
Entries must be based on live-action footage filmed by the participants during a visit to Sinchon. Videos should run for at least 20 seconds but less than 60 seconds and use a vertical 9:16 format with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels. Each individual or team may submit one work.
Possible subjects include local sites such as the Sinchon Culture Factory, Yonsei-ro, Changcheon Culture Park and Baramsan Children’s Park. Participants may also document festivals, street performances, restaurants, cafés, shopping, walks and meetings with friends or family.
There are no restrictions on genre. Vlogs, advertisements, parodies, challenges and short dramas are all eligible, provided the video includes a first-hand experience of Sinchon’s places, events, culture or daily life.
Applications will be accepted from Sept. 7 through 6 p.m. on Oct. 9 via the submission page linked to the Seodaemun District Office website.
Seven main prizes will be selected through judging, while three popularity awards will be determined through a separate vote. The grand-prize winner will receive 1.5 million won. Two excellence prizes of 1 million won, two merit prizes of 500,000 won, two encouragement prizes of 300,000 won and three popularity prizes of 100,000 won will also be awarded.
The district plans to announce the winners on Nov. 17. Selected videos will be used through its official social media and digital publicity channels and presented in a public exhibition in December.
