A photographer was disqualified from an AI-generated image contest after winning with a real photograph, as it was revealed that AI was not used.
Miles Astray's photograph of a flamingo, with its neck bent uniquely, took first place in the AI category of the 1839 Photography Awards.
Following the judging, his photo was deleted from the website, with organizers stating it did not meet the criteria for the AI category.
The artist stated on his website that he submitted the photo to prove the ongoing importance of human creativity.
