NHN CEO Jeong Woo Jin delivered his 2025 New Year’s message to employees on January 2, emphasizing the importance of building a "fundamentally strong company" to navigate a volatile and uncertain business environment. His address outlined the company’s core objectives for the year, including strengthening internal stability and achieving meaningful growth in its gaming business.

Jeong acknowledged the challenges facing the company, stating, “The internal and external business landscape remains difficult, and the need to improve financial health and profitability across the group is more pressing than ever.” He underscored the necessity of focused efforts to overcome these challenges while laying the foundation for sustainable growth.

On the topic of strengthening the company’s foundation, Jeong highlighted the initial impact of ongoing efforts to improve profitability. “The fruits of our years-long initiatives are beginning to show in enhanced profitability. We will continue to streamline loss-making operations and optimize subsidiary structures to create a business model where the company and its employees can grow together,” he stated.

For the gaming sector, a key pillar of NHN’s business, Jeong set an ambitious target of achieving over 30% growth in annual gaming revenue. He pledged to solidify Hangame’s dominance in the web-board game market and highlighted plans to launch several mid-core titles, including Darkest Days and Abyssdia. Jeong expressed confidence that these new titles would establish NHN’s presence in the global gaming market.

Jeong also emphasized the importance of collective effort in achieving these goals. “I hope all of us can come together as a team, not as individuals, and strive toward shared objectives. Let us channel our collective strength into achieving growth and success throughout the year,” he urged.

NHN’s 2025 strategy reflects a dual focus on internal efficiency and global expansion, particularly in its gaming division. With a clear vision for growth and a commitment to overcoming challenges, the company aims to solidify its position in the competitive global market.
