A new bronze bust of renowned German poet, philosopher, and historian Friedrich Schiller (1759-1805) was installed in Schillerpark on Wednesday morning. The installation marks the replacement of the previous bust that had honored the park's namesake for several years but required renewal due to deterioration.

The newly installed memorial features a bronze bust mounted on a marble pedestal, designed to withstand external weather conditions and environmental factors much better than its predecessor. This material choice ensures the monument will maintain its appearance and structural integrity for years to come, providing a lasting tribute to one of Germany's most celebrated literary figures.

The bronze casting was created by Kunstgießerei Loderer, a specialized art foundry, based on the original work by E. Thurner. Meanwhile, the marble pedestal was crafted by Steinmetz Cekoni, a stone masonry company known for their quality work. The collaboration between these two specialized craftsmen resulted in a high-quality memorial piece.

The total cost for the new Schiller monument amounted to 12,000 euros, covering both the bronze casting and the marble base construction. This investment reflects the community's commitment to preserving the memory and legacy of Friedrich Schiller, who remains one of the most important figures in German literature and philosophy, known for works such as 'The Robbers' and 'William Tell.'
