Seventeen's Tenth EP "FML" Shatters Sales Records, Proving the Power of K-Pop in the Global Music Industry

Seventeen, the thirteen-member K-pop boy band, has made history with the release of their tenth EP, “FML.” The mini-album, released on Monday, broke the record for the most sales in a single day in K-pop history, selling over 3.99 million units, according to Pledis Entertainment, the bands' agency.

The record previously belonged to BTS, whose fourth studio album sold 3.37 million copies in its first week in 2020. The new record set by Seventeen's “FML” is the first time a K-pop album has sold over 3 million copies in a single day.

The EP's sales numbers have already surpassed 4.64 million in pre-orders, another record for a K-pop artist. As a result, expectations are high that “FML” will sell over 4 million copies in the first week alone.

“Super,” one of the two focus tracks from the six-track EP, has already achieved tremendous success, topping the iTunes top songs chart in 36 regions worldwide, as well as all major real-time music charts in South Korea.

Seventeen's popularity continues to grow both at home and internationally, with the band becoming known for their intricate choreography, unique sound, and engaging stage presence.
