A2O LITE have earned their first win on a terrestrial television music programme with their debut single “NEON.”
The group placed first on the Oct. 25 episode of SBS’s “Inkigayo,” securing their fourth music show trophy since releasing the song on Oct. 13.
A2O LITE previously won SBS Life’s “The Show” on Oct. 20, MBC M’s “Show Champion” on Oct. 21 and Mnet’s “M Countdown” on Oct. 22. Their first trophy arrived seven days after the song’s release.
The four wins were achieved with a digital single rather than a physical album. A2O LITE held their debut showcase on Oct. 12 and officially released “NEON” the following day.
For the “Inkigayo” performance, the group presented its choreography on a separately constructed stage set. The members performed live during the encore following the announcement of the result.
After receiving the award, the members thanked their fans and staff, saying that the response to their debut still felt difficult to believe.
“NEON” reached No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100 about 29 hours after release and remained at the top from Oct. 15–25. The song was still ranked No. 1 on the chart on the morning of Oct. 26.
The track also topped both the Global K-pop Chart and Digital Chart for week 42 of the Circle Chart.
Outside South Korea, “NEON” reached No. 4 on Apple Music’s global Top 100 and placed first on QQ Music’s new-song, popular-song and music-video charts in China.
A2O LITE will continue their debut promotions through music programme appearances and online content.
