In a recent debut on Wednesday, the new boy band "Ampers&One" made its entry into the K-pop scene as the latest creation from FNC Entertainment, marking the label's first boy group release in three years since P1Harmony. The group's formation follows their participation in Mnet's audition program, "Boys Planet."
Comprising seven members – Brian, Kamden, Jiho, Siyun, Kyrell, Mackiah, and Seungmo – Ampers&One brings together talents that resonated with the audience, with the first three members having shown promise on "Boys Planet" but falling short of securing a spot in the debut group, Zerobaseone.
During a media showcase in Seoul, Jiho expressed his happiness at finally realizing his dream after four years as a trainee. Brian, another member, spoke about his motivation to excel after the "Boys Planet" experience, aiming to leave a lasting impression as part of Ampers&One.
Jiho revealed his initial concerns about an uncertain future following his exclusion from the final lineup on "Boys Planet." He appreciated the opportunity to join Ampers&One, recognizing it as a chance to continue pursuing his aspirations.
The group introduced its debut single album, titled "Ampersand One," featuring three tracks – "On and On," "Sweet & Sour," and "Sheesh." The album encapsulates themes of resilience in the face of challenges and the exploration of first love.
Ampers&One's launch has garnered attention from music enthusiasts, intrigued by the group's potential trajectory. In the highly competitive K-pop landscape, comparisons are being drawn with other rising boy groups like Riize, Boynextdoor, and Zerobaseone.
Siyun, a member of Ampers&One, highlighted the group's comfortable and friendly charm as a distinguishing factor. He believes the relatable lyrics and the diverse cultural backgrounds of the members will bring a unique and colorful aspect to their music.
Closing the showcase, Kamden expressed the team's aspiration to clinch a rookie award, underscoring their ambition in the competitive K-pop industry.
