South Korean actor and singer Cha Eun-woo's talent agency has issued a formal apology after a promotional phone event for his upcoming album resulted in thousands of misdirected calls flooding innocent phone users. The incident occurred when fans accidentally dialed incorrect numbers while attempting to access exclusive pre-recorded content from the popular entertainer.

Fantagio, Cha Eun-woo's management company, published an official notice on Wednesday titled "ARS VOICE contact information" to address the widespread confusion. The statement clarified that the correct number for accessing the ARS (Automatic Response System) content related to his second mini-album was 070-8919-0330, and emphasized that the special content could only be reached through this specific line. The agency urged fans to double-check their dialing, stating, "Some users entered the number incorrectly and their calls were directed elsewhere. Please make sure to dial the exact number."

The promotional event, which launched on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., was designed to build excitement for Cha's new release titled "ELSE." Fans who called the designated number were able to hear an exclusive pre-recorded message from the artist himself. The campaign proved incredibly popular, generating more than 100,000 calls shortly after its launch, demonstrating the massive fan following the K-pop star commands.

However, the event's success quickly turned problematic when numerous fans made dialing errors, leading to a surge of unwanted calls to private individuals whose phone numbers closely resembled the agency's promotional line. One particular private phone user received an overwhelming number of misdirected calls from confused fans attempting to reach the ARS system. The situation created significant inconvenience for these unintended recipients who found themselves bombarded with calls meant for the celebrity's promotional campaign.

Fantagio expressed sincere regret over the incident, stating in their official notice: "We sincerely apologize to those who were affected." The agency's quick response and public apology demonstrate their awareness of the disruption caused to innocent phone users who became unwitting victims of the promotional mishap.

Cha Eun-woo, who enlisted in the South Korean Army's military band in July, is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service obligations. Despite his military duties, his music career continues with the upcoming release of his second solo mini-album "ELSE," scheduled to drop on November 21 at 1 p.m. The album features songs that the multi-talented performer recorded prior to beginning his military service, allowing fans to enjoy new content even during his temporary absence from active entertainment activities.
