Rising K-pop group ILLIT is set to captivate global listeners with their new single, Baby It’s Both, an English version of the track Tick-Tack from their second mini-album. Belift Lab announced on November 22 that the reimagined track would feature American pop sensation Ava Max, adding international appeal to the release.
Baby It’s Both builds upon the original Tick-Tack with the addition of a vibrant scat section, transforming the song into a dynamic pop masterpiece. Known for her chart-topping hits, Ava Max’s collaboration injects fresh energy into the track, creating a seamless fusion of K-pop and Western pop influences.
The original Tick-Tack explores the theme of fluctuating emotions, likening the complexity of inner thoughts to a labyrinthine cabinet. Its infectious chorus resonated strongly with audiences, driving its popularity across South Korea and Japan. The track achieved notable success, ranking No. 1 on popular audio charts for Instagram Reels in both countries as of November 20.
Baby It’s Both aims to expand ILLIT’s international footprint, appealing to English-speaking fans while maintaining the group’s distinctive sound. The single’s polished production and relatable themes are expected to enhance its appeal on global streaming platforms.
In addition to their new release, ILLIT is scheduled to perform at the 2024 MAMA Awards in Los Angeles’ iconic Dolby Theatre. This marks another milestone for the group as they continue to solidify their presence in the international music scene.
With the strategic release of Baby It’s Both, ILLIT demonstrates their commitment to blending creative artistry with global reach. Their ability to adapt and expand their musical offerings reflects their growth as a rising force in the K-pop industry.
The group’s performance at the MAMA Awards is anticipated to showcase their dynamic stage presence and highlight their latest musical achievements. As Baby It’s Both rolls out, ILLIT is set to leave an indelible mark on both the K-pop and international music landscape.
