In the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid secured a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the second leg held at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid. The Spanish team's advancement to the final was confirmed with a 4-3 aggregate score.
During the opening leg in Germany, Real Madrid managed a 2-2 draw, benefitting from two defensive errors committed by Kim Min-jae of Bayern Munich.
Kim Min-jae, who had recently seen a decline in favor with Bayern Munich's head coach Thomas Tuchel, was brought on as a substitute in the 76th minute of the second leg. Despite his effort, including a late header that struck the woodwork, Bayern Munich was unable to secure a victory.
With 14 Champions League titles to their name, Real Madrid remains the most successful club in the tournament's history.
The loss marks a significant disappointment for Bayern Munich, who will end the season without any major trophies for the first time in twelve years, having lost the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen and suffering an early exit from the DFB-Pokal.
Additionally, the absence of Korean players in this year's final was confirmed as Paris Saint-Germain, featuring Korean midfielder Lee Kang-in, was defeated by Borussia Dortmund in the semifinals.
