Following the successful prerelease of the single, RM is slated to release the full 11-track album on May 24, marking his first solo project since "Indigo," his debut solo album, which was released in December 2022.
Described as an indie pop track, "Come Back to Me" delves into RM's complex emotions, exploring themes of yearning for new experiences while grappling with the desire for familiarity, according to statements from the agency.
RM took on the role of lyricist for the song, while Oh Hyuk of the band Hyukoh handled composition and arrangement. Kuo of Sunset Rollercoaster contributed guitar and bass, with additional writing credits going to singer-songwriter JNKYRD and San Yawn from Balming Tiger.
Despite his current military service in the South Korean Army, RM managed to film music videos for nearly half of the tracks on the upcoming album prior to his enlistment in December, as disclosed by BigHit Music.
