South Korean entertainment company FNC Entertainment introduces its latest K-pop endeavor with the debut of boy band AMPERS&ONE. The septet comprises Kamden, Kyrell, Brian, Mackiah, Jiho, Siyun, and Seungmo, with more than half of its members hailing from foreign countries. Notably, Kamden and Jiho gained visibility through Mnet's "Boys Planet" (2023), while Siyun rose to recognition on "YG TREASURE BOX" (2018).
AMPERS&ONE marks FNC Entertainment's newest venture into the K-pop scene following the launch of P1HARMONY in 2020. The group's name, a fusion of "&" (ampersand) and "ONE," emphasizes unity among members of diverse cultural backgrounds. The debut album, "AMPERSAND ONE," released on Wednesday, features three tracks: "Sweet & Sour," "Sheesh," and the lead single, "On And On." The album explores the theme of campus life, likening the members' debut experience to entering college as freshmen.
Front man Jiho expresses gratitude for seizing the opportunity to debut after his participation in "Boys Planet." AMPERS&ONE is FNC Entertainment's first K-pop act since producing prominent groups such as F.T. Island, CNBLUE, AOA, and SF9.
The group's debut album features contributions from member Kamden, who participated in writing the lyrics for the lead single, "On And On." Kamden extends appreciation to his fans and fellow contestants from "Boys Planet" who have supported him throughout his journey.
While AMPERS&ONE embarks on its debut, member Mackiah expresses high hopes for engaging with other K-pop acts, filming dance challenge videos, and connecting with fans. Jiho shares aspirations for the group to achieve a once-in-a-lifetime rookie award and become a symbolic figure in the K-pop world in the future.
