Fu Bao spent 1,354 days at Everland in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, before departing for China on April 3. Born to Ai Bao and Le Bao, who were loaned to South Korea by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2016, Fu Bao holds the distinction of being the first panda cub born in Korea through natural breeding.
Per China's endangered species conservation agreement, all pandas born overseas are mandated to return to China before reaching the age of 4.

A South Korean animation production company, Accomz, in partnership with Everland, the Korean theme park and zoo, is currently in production of a movie depicting the interactions between Fu Bao, the giant panda born in July 2020, and her zookeepers.
Tentatively titled "Hello, Grandpa," the film is based on interviews with zookeepers Song Young-gwan and Kang Cheol-won, also known as "panda grandfather" among Fu Bao enthusiasts. The animated documentary will portray the journey of Fu Bao's upbringing and her bond with the caregivers until her relocation to China.
