Final Call seeks female applicants born from 2005 to 2011 and adds in-person auditions in eight Indian cities

HYBE India has partnered with Indian actor Rashmika Mandanna to recruit additional applicants for its local girl group project.

The company announced Mandanna’s participation in the “HYBE India Audition: Final Call” campaign on Sept. 11. The collaboration presents the audition as an opportunity open to applicants regardless of their region or background.

Final Call follows the first phase of the HYBE India Girl Group Audition, which began in March. Female applicants born between 2005 and 2011 may apply in categories including vocals, rap, dance, acting and modelling. Applications will remain open through Oct. 31.

According to HYBE India, the initial phase received applications from about 1,650 cities across 116 countries through online and in-person channels.

The new campaign adds in-person auditions in eight Indian cities. Together with the 10 Indian cities and five overseas locations included in the first phase, the project will have conducted face-to-face auditions in 23 cities.

Mandanna has worked across Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi cinema. Her credits include “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” “Animal” and “Chhaava.”

In the campaign, she encourages aspiring artists and performers to treat the audition as a possible first step toward an international career. A video tracing her childhood and path into acting has also been released through the HYBE Labels YouTube channel.

The audition forms part of HYBE’s “multi-home, multi-genre” strategy, which adapts its artist development system to different languages, cultures and music markets. Projects developed under the approach include &TEAM in Japan, KATSEYE through HYBE and Geffen Records, and Santos Bravos in Latin America.

KATSEYE recently earned its first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with its third EP, “WILD.” Member Lara has an Indian background. HYBE India’s audition extends the company’s regional model by building a new act around talent recruited in and beyond the Indian market.
