Hyeri to Star in New Musical Film "Victory"

Film Set in 1999 Explores Friendship and Passion for Dance

Singer and actor Lee Hye-ri, known as Hyeri from the K-pop group Girl's Day, will return to the silver screen in the new musical film "Victory." The film's distributor, Mindmark, announced on Wednesday that the film will premiere on August 14 and released a teaser poster.

Set in 1999, "Victory" follows the story of two high school best friends, Pil-sun (Lee) and Mi-na (Park Se-wan), in the coastal city of Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province. The friends, driven by a strong passion for dance, decide to join their school's cheerleading squad, Millennium Girls. They are joined by a new student, Se-hyun (Jo A-ram), who has previous cheerleading experience. Together, they share their love for music and dance while navigating their teenage years in a small town.

“With the stellar cast of Hyeri, Park Se-wan, Jo A-ram, and Lee Jung-ha, syncing right into their character 200 percent to show the greatest chemistry, 'Victory' will fill theaters with vibrant energy this summer," the distributor said in a statement.

The film is directed by Park Beom-su, whose previous works include "Red Carpet" (2014) and "Single in Seoul" (2023).

Hyeri, who debuted with Girl's Day in 2010, transitioned to acting with the hit drama "Reply 1988" in 2015. Her acting career includes roles in the romance series "My Roommate Is a Gumiho" (2021) and the action film "Monstrum" (2018).
