Arario Gallery will participate in Art Basel Hong Kong 2025, one of the world’s leading art fairs, set to take place at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre from March 26 to 30, 2025. The gallery will present works by 11 prominent Asian artists, highlighting their diverse artistic practices and contributions to contemporary art.

The exhibition will feature a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, and mixed-media installations. Among the showcased artists are Chen Yujun, Chen Yufan, Kohei Nawa, Kim Byoungho, An Gyungsu, Ok Seungcheol, Park Seo-Bo, Lee Jinju, Yuki Saegusa, Subodh Gupta, and Gwon Osang. Their works reflect key themes in modern Asian art, such as identity, materiality, tradition, and technological innovation.

One of the highlights is Chen Yujun (b. 1976, China), whose work explores themes of family, migration, and identity, drawing inspiration from generational narratives of displacement. His brother, Chen Yufan (b. 1973, China), incorporates abstract and figurative elements to reflect memory, history, and time through a personal cultural lens.

Japanese artist Kohei Nawa (b. 1975) integrates digital paradigms and sculptural techniques to question materiality and perception in the technological era. Kim Byoungho (b. 1974, Korea) presents geometric sculptures that merge urban aesthetics with artificial nature, symbolizing the paradox of modern civilization.

Korean painter An Gyungsu (b. 1975) translates suburban landscapes into sensorial expressions on canvas, while Ok Seungcheol (b. 1988, Korea) challenges the concept of authenticity in the post-digital age by merging digital imagery with physical textures.

Arario Gallery will also introduce innovative works that emphasize materiality and technique. Lee Jinju (b. 1980, Korea) blends traditional Korean painting with contemporary materials, using handmade pigments, unbleached fabric, and animal skin glue to create layered compositions exploring time and multiplicity. Yuki Saegusa (b. 1987, Japan) reinterprets traditional Japanese and Flemish painting techniques to construct dreamlike, undefined landscapes.

Renowned Indian artist Subodh Gupta (b. 1964) presents sculptural works incorporating mass-produced everyday objects, addressing consumerism, waste, and societal shifts. Meanwhile, Gwon Osang (b. 1974, Korea) showcases his signature “photo sculptures,” combining photography and three-dimensionality to redefine the boundaries of contemporary sculpture.

This exhibition at Art Basel Hong Kong 2025 will provide an in-depth look at the evolving landscape of Asian contemporary art, positioning these artists on a global platform. Focusing on history, identity, materiality, and digital transformation, Arario Gallery’s presentation reflects the diversity and innovation shaping modern Asian artistic discourse.
