Daejeon Biennale2022, a fusion exhibition of science and art, will be held from August 2nd to October 30th with the theme of 'Future City'.
July 12, Daejeon Museum of Art said "Works by artists from 11 countries, including installation art, media art, and paintings, will be exhibited in the main building of the museum and at Daejeon Creative Center."
In the main building, four sub-themed exhibitions will be held: 'Terrapolis for All', 'Once the Future', 'Infinite Intersection', and 'City Project'.
Daejeon Biennale exhibits works that artistically interpret various problems facing future cities, such as climate change, ecological crisis, and symbiosis in the rapidly changing digital age.
Faculty members of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) participated in writing the catalog for the exhibition. International academic events and art forums will be held, and programs for children and families to participate are also held online and offline.
Seon Seung-hye, director of Daejeon Museum of Art, said, "I hope that culture and art will bloom with the help of science and technology. The Daejeon Biennale is a new stage where culture and art exert a positive influence on science and technology. Please join us."
Daejeon Biennale, first started in 2018, is an art project held biennially.
