A concert by composer Kim Hyo Gun, who is considered a legend in the history of modern Korean songs, 'K-artpop Talk Concert' will be held.
Kim is a South Korean composer who has created masterpieces such as '눈', '첫사랑' '삶이 그대를 속일지라도' and '내 영혼 바람 되어'. He will start composing in middle school and unravel his experiences as a musician for a long time in the form of a talk concert.
The composer began to make his mark as a composer when he won the grand prize at the first MBC College Song Festival in 1981 when he was a junior in economics at Seoul National University.
The composer, who resumed his full-fledged work in 2007, released his first composition album, 내 영혼 바람 되어, in 2010, and later released several Artpop tracks that combine various genres such as opera and musical.
'Artpop' is a music genre that Kim is newly leading the trend to develop the declining genre of Korean songs into a culture that is friendly to the public. The genre seeks to pursue both the artistry and popularity of Korean songs at the same time.
Just as K-pop culture has become a global trend, this concert is designed with the hope that Korean song culture will also spread throughout the global world through globalization.
The concert will feature the voice ensemble group 'PathBreaking Singers'(Kim Se Me and Yoo Jeong Ma as a soprano and Jeong Gook Cheol as bariton and Lee Kyeong Ho as Tenor), soprano Son Jeong Yun, and Han A Reum to express the composer's melody with a beautiful voice.
In addition, MC and current affairs and culture critic Son Jin ki and performing arts director Son Duk ki will lead the overall flow of the performance and present a pleasant talk concert to visitors.
The composer hopes that this concert will make the culture of contemporary songs more familiar to modern people. He says that the reason for the decline of contemporary songs lies in a lack of records.
The concert is significant in that it will record the modern song, which began in earnest with the MBC Song Festival in 1981, through performances while the composer is alive.
The concert will be held at Aram Nuri Aram Concert Hall in Goyang from 7 p.m. on April 7, and tickets for viewing will be available through online reservations such as Interpark.
