K-pop girl group NewJeans will donate all proceeds from their performances at seven university festivals, as announced by their agency, ADOR. The group is promoting their latest songs, "Bubble Gum" and "How Sweet."
NewJeans began their university tour at Korea University on Saturday and will continue at Chosun University on Monday. Subsequent performances include Dong-eui University and Pusan University on Tuesday, Dongguk University and Sejong University on Thursday, and Chung-Ang University on Friday.
“NewJeans will be performing at seven universities over the course of a week to meet with as many people in diverse places as possible,” ADOR stated in a notice on Phoning, the group’s fan communication app. “All the income will go to charity.”
“How Sweet” has achieved high rankings on music charts both in South Korea and internationally, including Japan's Oricon Daily Single Ranking and China's QQ Music.
In other news, ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin is currently involved in a legal dispute with HYBE, the parent company and majority owner of ADOR. The Seoul Central District Court is set to rule on whether HYBE can exercise its voting rights at a shareholders' meeting scheduled for Friday.
