In a disappointing announcement for fans eagerly anticipating his first-ever concert in Korea, acclaimed Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has canceled all tour dates, including the highly anticipated performance scheduled for July 29. The announcement was made by concert organizer Livenation Korea on Thursday, citing health issues as the reason behind the unfortunate decision.
Capaldi himself expressed his deep regret in a heartfelt statement released on Tuesday, where he shared, "I'm very sorry to let you know I'm going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future." Acknowledging the challenges posed by his Tourette's syndrome, the singer-songwriter emphasized the need to prioritize his mental and physical well-being to ensure a sustainable and fulfilling career. Capaldi's courageous openness about his diagnosis of Tourette's syndrome last year has garnered admiration and support from fans worldwide.
Although Capaldi recently performed at the renowned Glastonbury Festival in England, he recognized the imperative of taking a pause from his musical endeavors. "I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come," he explained. Capaldi's unwavering dedication to his craft and his desire to provide his audience with exceptional performances underscored his difficult decision.
Capaldi expressed sincere apologies to all those who had made plans to attend his shows before the end of the year. "I'm so incredibly sorry to everyone who had planned to come to a show before the end of the year, but I need to feel well to perform at the standard you all deserve," he conveyed. Promising his fans that he would return to the stage as soon as possible, Capaldi's commitment to delivering memorable experiences remains resolute.
The Scottish singer-songwriter burst onto the scene with his debut single, "Bruises," in 2017, instantly capturing the hearts of listeners around the globe. However, it was his soul-stirring track "Someone You Loved," featured in his 2018 EP "Breach," that propelled him to international stardom. The song achieved an extraordinary seven-week run at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart and became the best-selling single of 2019 in the U.K. Capaldi's exceptional talent and undeniable impact were recognized at the BRIT Awards in 2020, where he claimed both the Best New Artist and Song of the Year accolades.
