Prestigious Ceremony to Take Place on May 7, Nominees to Be Announced on April 8

The 60th Baeksang Arts Awards is scheduled to take place on May 7 at Coex in southern Seoul, starting at 5 p.m. The event will be broadcast live on cable channels JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4.

Nominees for the awards will be announced on April 8, following a review of works released in Korea between April 1, 2023, and March 31 of this year. A panel of 60 experts from the arts and entertainment field participated in the judging process, according to the organizing committee.

The Baeksang Arts Awards, also known as the Paeksang Arts Awards, is recognized as one of the top three prestigious award ceremonies in Korea, alongside the Daejong International Film Awards and the Blue Dragon Film Awards. The ceremony acknowledges excellence in film, television, and theater in Korea.

In the previous year's ceremony, director Park Chan-wook's "Decision to Leave" (2023) and actor Park Eun-bin were honored for her main role in "Extraordinary Attorney Woo" (2023).

Netflix original series "The Glory" (2023) received three awards, including the Best Drama Award and Best Actress Award for Song Hye-kyo. Additionally, the history crime thriller "The Night Owl" (2023) was recognized with three awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor for Ryu Jun-yeol, and New Director Award for Ahn Tae-jin.
