In a move sure to excite K-pop fans worldwide, A.O.Entertainment announced on Thursday that the girl group Primrose is slated for a comeback, this time as a quartet. The group will now comprise of members Ruby, Rainie, Nahyun, and Ha Yun, a considerable evolution from the original duo.
The agency, in its official statement, confirmed, “Primrose is currently in preparation for a comeback [as a group of four]. The comeback date will be revealed at a future time.” This announcement indicates the end of a phase of reorganization for the group, with fans eagerly anticipating the new line-up's chemistry and musical direction.
Primrose first made its entry into the bustling K-pop scene in January 2023 as a duo consisting of members Yeum and Ruby. However, the group underwent a significant change when Yeum, whose real name is Jeong Myoeng-woo, left in March due to personal and health-related issues.
In May, the agency made the strategic decision to add Nahyun and Rainie to the group, setting the stage for Primrose's transition to a four-member act. Both new members bring a wealth of experience to Primrose, having previously debuted with other girl groups. Nahyun was a part of Hot Issue, which made its debut in 2021, while Rainie was a member of bugAboo that debuted in the same year. bugAboo disbanded in December 2022, providing Rainie with a new opportunity in Primrose.
The forthcoming comeback of Primrose marks a new chapter for the group and its members. The mix of experience and fresh talent promises an exciting journey ahead. As the K-pop industry continues to garner global attention, the reformation of groups such as Primrose illustrates the dynamism and resilience of the artists within this vibrant music scene.
With fans worldwide holding their breath for the new and improved Primrose, anticipation is building for their comeback. As Ruby, Rainie, Nahyun, and Ha Yun prepare to take the stage, the music industry watches on, keen to see how this reshuffled group will make their mark on the world of K-pop.
