Taemin, a member of the K-pop group SHINee, communicated to fans through a fan platform on Wednesday that he has decided to part ways with SM Entertainment. Expressing a desire for a new beginning, he revealed that he had contemplated this decision since the previous year and consulted with his bandmates. The artist conveyed gratitude to fans for their unwavering support and pledged to remain true to himself in his future endeavors.
SM Entertainment confirmed that Taemin's contract with the management firm is set to conclude by the end of this month. Despite Taemin's departure, the label assured the public that it will continue to oversee the group's collective activities.
Following Taemin's exit, both Taemin and SHINee's leader, Onew, will be seeking new agencies after a 16-year association with SM Entertainment. Reports suggest that Key and Minho are likely to remain with SM Entertainment, though specifics remain unconfirmed.
