(Seoul, September 2, 2023, SayArt) — Frieze Seoul, the international art fair, is gearing up for its second edition from September 6 to 9 at the COEX Convention Center Grand Ball Room. Among the participating galleries is New York-based David Zwirner, which will occupy Booth B9, offering a diverse selection of contemporary art from both emerging and established artists.
The gallery's presentation will feature new monotypes and paintings by Katherine Bernhardt, whose work often draws upon pop culture icons for inspiration. Her latest collection includes images of characters like the Pink Panther and E.T., adding a touch of irreverence to the showcase.
Swedish artist Mamma Andersson, who recently participated in the 2023 Gwangju Biennale, will also have her work on display at the booth. Her new paintings continue her exploration of human emotions and complexities.
Adding to the gallery's lineup are iconic works by Yayoi Kusama, including a painting from her famed Infinity Nets series, a canvas adorned with her signature pumpkin motif, and a self-portrait embellished with her characteristic polka dots.
The Zwirner booth will also host works from a wide array of celebrated artists such as Josef Albers, Huma Bhabha, Suzan Frecon, Donald Judd, Joan Mitchell, Giorgio Morandi, Oscar Murillo, Alice Neel, Gerhard Richter, Robert Ryman, Richard Serra, Rose Wylie, and Lisa Yuskavage.
Frieze Seoul serves as a major platform for international galleries to exhibit the works of their artists, attracting enthusiasts and professionals from across the globe. David Zwirner's return to the fair indicates the gallery's continued interest in the Asian art market and its commitment to showcasing a diverse range of talent.
For more information, the art fair will be held at the COEX Convention Center Grand Ball Room, Seoul, from September 6 to 9, 2023. David Zwirner Gallery's offerings can be found at Booth B9.
