In an impressive feat for a rookie group, NewJeans has achieved a remarkable milestone with their debut EP, as every song on the record has now surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. The agency Ador confirmed this achievement on Wednesday, solidifying the quintet's position as a rising force in the K-pop industry.
Among the standout tracks, "Hurt," the B-side song from their eponymous EP, recently reached the coveted 100 million streaming mark, marking its sixth track to achieve such a feat. Furthermore, three focus tracks from the EP, namely "Hype Boy," "Attention," and "Cookie," have respectively logged an impressive 300 million, 200 million, and 100 million streams on the platform.
The collective success of NewJeans on Spotify is undeniably remarkable. By March, just 219 days after their debut, the group had amassed a staggering 1 billion streams on the platform with their six songs. This achievement has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records, solidifying NewJeans' status as a record-breaking K-pop artist.
In a separate event, the quintet delighted fans with a special performance of "ETA," one of the title tracks from their highly anticipated second EP, "Get Up," at a fan meet held in Seoul over the weekend. The upcoming mini-album, set to be released on July 21, has generated significant anticipation among fans eagerly awaiting new music from NewJeans.
The swift rise of NewJeans in the music industry has been nothing short of remarkable. Their ability to captivate listeners and amass such significant streaming numbers within a short period underscores their immense popularity and appeal. With their infectious sound and charismatic performances, NewJeans has quickly garnered a dedicated fanbase both in Korea and internationally.
