Leader of Popular Boy Group Faces Performance Limitations as He Recovers

In a recent development reported by local media, S.Coups, the leader of the boy group Seventeen, has been exempted from military service owing to a knee injury sustained in August 2023. Pledis Entertainment, the artist's agency, disclosed that S.Coups suffered a left knee injury while filming with Seventeen members, resulting in an anterior cruciate ligament rupture. 

▲ Courtesy of Pledis EntertainmentThe artist underwent surgery and, consequently, was unable to participate in activities related to Seventeen's 11th mini-album, "Seventeenth Heaven," released in October of the same year. Additionally, S.Coups missed out on the group's dome tour in Japan, titled "Follow."

Despite the setback, Seventeen is poised for a comeback in April, with S.Coups reportedly participating. The leader is expected to join the group in their upcoming concerts, starting on March 30-31 at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium, preceding the release of their new album. Pledis Entertainment acknowledged that S.Coups may not be able to partake in every performance, contingent on the progress of his knee recovery.

In a parallel development, Jeonghan, another Seventeen member who took a hiatus from group activities due to ankle surgery in December, is set to resume activities alongside S.Coups.
