The K-pop rookie sensation, Fifty Fifty, has achieved another milestone with their breakout hit song, "Cupid," maintaining its position on the esteemed British Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the 12th consecutive week.
In the latest chart released on Friday (British time), the infectious track held the 12th spot, slightly down from its previous position at 11th.
"Cupid" has now tied the record for the longest-charting song from a K-pop girl group, sharing the distinction with "Kiss and Make Up," a collaborative single by BLACKPINK and Dua Lipa.
Since its debut in early April, "Cupid" has enjoyed a swift ascent through the ranks. The song entered the chart at a modest No. 96 and steadily climbed, peaking at an impressive No. 8 on May 12. This achievement made Fifty Fifty the first K-pop girl group to crack the top 10 of the British Official Singles Chart.
The four-member group burst onto the scene in November, quickly amassing a devoted fanbase and skyrocketing to stardom by late March. In fact, they hold the distinction of being the fastest K-pop group to make an entry on the prestigious U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile, K-pop supergroup BTS, known for their global dominance, continues to make waves with their latest digital single, "Take Two." Released in celebration of their monumental 10th anniversary, the song made an impressive debut on the British Official Singles Chart at No. 59 this week.
The monumental success of "Cupid" and the continued chart presence of "Take Two" underscore the indomitable presence of K-pop on the international music scene. As the genre continues to captivate audiences around the world, Fifty Fifty and BTS stand as prime examples of the genre's global appeal and unrivaled popularity.
