AKMU, the sibling duo consisting of Lee Su-hyun and Lee Chan-hyuk, marked their 10th anniversary with a celebratory concert titled "10VE" at Seoul's KSPO Dome over the weekend. The concert, themed around musical scenes reminiscent of "La La Land" and "Chicago," showcased the duo's evolution since their debut on the television audition program "K-pop Star" in 2013.
Lee Su-hyun, the vocalist of AKMU, welcomed fans to the concert, which featured high-quality acoustic arrangements and a nostalgic journey through the duo's career. Lee Chan-hyuk, the songwriter and older brother, emphasized the concert's theme of reminiscence and gratitude towards their fan club, Akkademy.
The two-and-a-half-hour performance included hits from AKMU's discography such as “Last Goodbye” (2017), “Re-Bye” (2016), and “200%” (2014). A special song titled "Remember," sung by Lee Su-hyun for the first time, was also debuted during the concert.
Special guests Lee Hyo-ri and IU made appearances on different days to congratulate AKMU on their milestone anniversary. IU, reflecting on AKMU's growth since their early days, expressed emotional sentiments towards the duo's achievements in the Korean music scene.
In addition to the concert, AKMU released their third EP "Love Episode" in June and launched an LP edition compilation in celebration of their anniversary. They are scheduled to perform at Japan's Summer Sonic 2024 festival in August.
