Glasgow-based engineering firm Narro Associates has opened its first London studio, marking a significant southward expansion three years after the company initially entered the English market through its Newcastle office. The new facility, located in Canonbury, represents the firm's sixth location alongside existing offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Stirling, and Aberdeen.

The London studio will be led by managing director Ben Adam and associate director Lily Erskine, with operations focused primarily on building conservation and preservation projects as well as cultural sector work. The new location is designed to function as a collaborative hub where architects, heritage consultants, and cultural institutions can work together on various design projects.

"We've built a strong reputation for our conservation and cultural sector expertise, and we're excited to bring that experience to a city with such a rich architectural heritage," Adam commented regarding the expansion. The company's decision to establish a presence in London reflects its growing ambitions in the conservation field and its desire to tap into the capital's extensive cultural and heritage market.

Lily Erskine brings substantial London market experience to her leadership role at the new studio. She joined Narro Associates in 2016 after working at competitor Alan Baxter Ltd, where she contributed to several high-profile projects including work on the Palace of Westminster, the Goldsmith Contemporary Arts Centre, and the Royal Academy of Arts. Her background positions her well to lead the firm's London operations and leverage existing relationships in the city's architectural and cultural communities.

The expansion represents Narro Associates' continued growth strategy as the firm seeks to capitalize on opportunities in England's heritage and cultural sectors. With London serving as a major center for both historic preservation work and cultural institutions, the new studio positions the company to compete for significant projects in one of the world's most architecturally rich cities.
