The Korean Cultural Center in Hungary recently organized a series of traditional Korean cooking workshops specifically designed for university students, offering them an immersive experience into Korean culinary culture. The workshops took place on three separate dates in October, welcoming students from two prominent Hungarian universities to learn about authentic Korean cuisine.

Students from Eötvös Loránd University and Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary participated in these hands-on cooking sessions on October 13, 20, and 27. The workshops were structured to provide participants with practical experience in preparing some of Korea's most beloved and internationally recognized dishes.

During the interactive cooking sessions, students learned to prepare two iconic Korean dishes: Kimbap, the popular Korean rice roll wrapped in seaweed, and Tteokbokki, the spicy stir-fried rice cake dish that has become a staple of Korean street food culture. These dishes were specifically chosen to represent both the healthy and flavorful aspects of traditional Korean cuisine.

The workshops provided participants with valuable hands-on experience using traditional Korean ingredients and cooking techniques, allowing them to understand the cultural significance behind each dish. Students gained practical knowledge about Korean culinary methods, ingredient preparation, and the cultural context that makes these foods an integral part of Korean daily life.
