"The Atypical Family" is a romance fantasy series scheduled to premiere on Saturday. It follows a family of heroes who have lost their supernatural powers due to various reasons. The protagonist, Bok Gwi-joo (played by Jang), is a single father with the ability to travel back in time. However, after experiencing depression following an incident, he loses this power. The storyline takes a turn when a mysterious woman named Do Da-hae (played by Chun Woo-hee) enters Bok and his family's lives, bringing about changes to their powerless days.
During a press conference for the series, held at Stanford Hotel in Mapo District, Seoul, Jang expressed his attraction to the script and his excitement for the comeback. Actor Chun Woo-hee, who plays the mysterious woman Do Da-hae, was drawn to the series for its fantasy setting within an everyday family story. She emphasized the paradoxical nature of the storyline and the relatability it offers to viewers living in today's society. Chun also praised the unique chemistry between her and Jang Ki-yong, highlighting their unexpected combination as counterparts in the series.
